I finally built myself up as a young man with too much to prove
And it wore me down
I showed them all
But to what end would I stop?
Oh, I couldn't tell
I was so stupid and bold
I'd stab you in the back for the chance to be known
I cannot fight the fear that I had as a child
I was alone in this world
And I...
And I still am, due to the way that I've been
And I still am left to my devices
I guess I made myself into the man I feared I would be
I was stronger
I felt invincible
I rode that horse to it's grave
I devoured every soul I could eat
I was wrong and I was wrong and I was wrong for what I did
I was so stupid and bold
I'd stab you in the back for the chance to be known
I cannot fight the fear that I had as a child
I was alone in this world
And I still am

Every time I think I’ve uncovered all the hidden gems I find another one, this is fine music. This band has two other more recent releases not available on Bandcamp, also amazing. Kind of a mix of genres with the post rock backbone I enjoy so much, very talented! Deej

Boston post-punk outfit Junk Ranchers broke up in 1986 before this, their debut album, was released; darkly melodic, it's a long-lost gem. Bandcamp New & Notable Dec 22, 2020

I bought Fantastic Freak Show then after listening to about half of it I bought their entire discography. Don't make my mistake, just buy the discography first, you won't regret it. These guys are incredible, one of the best Psy-Rock bands I've heard. On top of that, these are almost all 24/48 and 24/96 recordings so their collection price is an amazing bargain. I have no clue how I missed these guys until now but I have a bunch of listening to do right now. :-) Dean Kimball
