A one turns to a two and I'm the only one with open eyes
Sparks shine as I drag myself to a corner
Did the almighty dollar pull my inner child from my dreams or did I?
Did I?
Time is running and there isn't much for me to spare
I come to you as a lowly man
I've lost so many dreams on account of material things
It's all so clear when it's gone
Here in my fallen state, I have to stop this wanting
Because, where is it going?
Here I thought I was just dreaming
The closer I look, the closer I get
It is not dream that has me alarmed
It's not the dream, it's the want
It's the drive to take it all that scares the hell out of me
Because I destroy everything that I touch
That I love
That I want
I hope you're never like me
Oh baby boy, I hope you're never like me
Oh baby boy, you look like your father when he refused to sing
Oh baby boy, because he knew that I did such bad things
Oh baby boy, you have the heart to be what I can't be

Every time I think I’ve uncovered all the hidden gems I find another one, this is fine music. This band has two other more recent releases not available on Bandcamp, also amazing. Kind of a mix of genres with the post rock backbone I enjoy so much, very talented! Deej

Boston post-punk outfit Junk Ranchers broke up in 1986 before this, their debut album, was released; darkly melodic, it's a long-lost gem. Bandcamp New & Notable Dec 22, 2020

I bought Fantastic Freak Show then after listening to about half of it I bought their entire discography. Don't make my mistake, just buy the discography first, you won't regret it. These guys are incredible, one of the best Psy-Rock bands I've heard. On top of that, these are almost all 24/48 and 24/96 recordings so their collection price is an amazing bargain. I have no clue how I missed these guys until now but I have a bunch of listening to do right now. :-) Dean Kimball
